Shetland Lace Bridal Shrug

When Kelly married in New Zealand she wanted to have a shrug made with a connection to Shetland. By analysing a blanket that her granny had made for the family I recreated the pattern in handspun yarn from Elizabeth Johnson of "Shetland Handspun". I handbeaded the cuffs and along the back of the shrug to create interest. It was an honour to be able to carry the knitting of such a prolific and generous knitter into her grand daughter's wedding day.
